Mild, dry weather continues through Monday, with temperatures running above normal for late October. A low-pressure system moving down the West Coast will start drawing moisture north into Idaho by midweek. Light, scattered showers are possible as early as Tuesday afternoon and into Wednesday, but they shouldn’t amount to much.
The bigger change arrives Thursday into Friday. As that system swings inland and lifts northeast through the Great Basin, deeper moisture will bring more organized, widespread precipitation and a sharp drop in temperatures. Snow levels will fall, putting the higher terrain in line for its next round of snow. Exact timing and totals are still uncertain, but forecasters are confident the week will end cool and wet.
